This weekend was crammed with excitement! We had two friends that got married on Saturday. We started our day in Plainfield at Laura and Chuck's ceremony then headed into the city for Coach & Julie's ceremony at Lincoln Park Formal Gardens. The location was stunning! The ceremony was beautiful. We had never been to a jewish ceremony before and it was really lovely. The reception was at Gibson's and we had a blast dancing all night with our friends that we don't get to see very often. Of course there were the bride and groom, but also newlyweds Paul & Jody, newly engaged - Trish & Larry, George & Marnie, and Laura and Meghan. The food was great, the party even better. We headed downstairs after for the afterparty in Gibson's bar. We just missed John Cusack and Eddie Vedder!!! I would have probably had a heart attack if I came face to face with either of them!
We stayed downtown and today we had lunch with our friend Thom. He lives in the Hancock Building and after lunch, he gave us a personal tour of the building and his fantastic home on the 73rd floor. What views!!!!!!!!!!
After our visit with Thom and Dennis we headed up to the Lincoln Park Zoo - pretty much where we were the day before for the ceremony. We wandered around a bit and visited all the animals. Of course, the monkeys and gorillas are my favorites! Our feet were finally ready to call it quits so we headed back home. With one stop, however... the perfect ending to the day.
SUPERDAWG! Yum... AND the setting of our first date! HA HA! What a fun.. but exhausting weekend.
