Two Weddings and the Zoo.

This weekend was crammed with excitement! We had two friends that got married on Saturday. We started our day in Plainfield at Laura and Chuck's ceremony then headed into the city for Coach & Julie's ceremony at Lincoln Park Formal Gardens. The location was stunning! The ceremony was beautiful. We had never been to a jewish ceremony before and it was really lovely. The reception was at Gibson's and we had a blast dancing all night with our friends that we don't get to see very often. Of course there were the bride and groom, but also newlyweds Paul & Jody, newly engaged - Trish & Larry, George & Marnie, and Laura and Meghan. The food was great, the party even better. We headed downstairs after for the afterparty in Gibson's bar. We just missed John Cusack and Eddie Vedder!!! I would have probably had a heart attack if I came face to face with either of them!

We stayed downtown and today we had lunch with our friend Thom. He lives in the Hancock Building and after lunch, he gave us a personal tour of the building and his fantastic home on the 73rd floor. What views!!!!!!!!!!

After our visit with Thom and Dennis we headed up to the Lincoln Park Zoo - pretty much where we were the day before for the ceremony. We wandered around a bit and visited all the animals. Of course, the monkeys and gorillas are my favorites! Our feet were finally ready to call it quits so we headed back home. With one stop, however... the perfect ending to the day.

SUPERDAWG! Yum... AND the setting of our first date! HA HA! What a fun.. but exhausting weekend.

What kind of a wife am I?!

Just now, our great friend Nancy at work brought a box to me and said "Happy Anniversary". I looked at her for a second and then at the calendar and said - OH MY GOD! I didn't even realize it was our one-month anniversary and here she brought us this beautiful picture frame for us as an Anniversary present. Gosh... how bad is that? Someone else has to remind me of my wedding anniversary! Sheesh!

At least I'm not the only one that forgot!

Fair Weekend

What a fun fair weekend! I'm exhausted!!! Mom, Tif and I ventured up to the Fair Friday night and had a great time mingling and listening to a really fun band! We ran into my cousin Paula and my adopted cousin Mary who invited us out on Paula's boat on Saturday! We had a BLAST! Thanks again CUZ! Saturday night we returned to the fair a little more sunburnt and tired than the night before. We made the best of it though and had a great time! Sunday, we had a little get-together at mom's house for everyone to watch our wedding video. Thanks everyone for stopping by -- I hope you enjoyed it!

My girls...

Here's another one in from today! My fabulous girls Aimee Sue and Emily Lou.

OK...OK!

I keep getting grief that I haven't updated our blog since we have returned... so here you go!!
This week has been long - us trying to get back into our routine and get back on track. It's not quite Ireland, but what can you do?

Our reception last weekend was FANTASTIC! The hotel did such a great job of pulling it off! Everyone was WONDERFUL! The ballroom was beautiful, the food was amazing and the party... well HELLO... it's us and if you know us at all you know we know how to throw a party!!! That's the whole point. We are so thankful to everyone who traveled to be with us to celebrate our day! We trully hope you enjoyed yourselves and from the reports... I'm thinking that is a YES. :) For those of you that are worried you had TOO MUCH fun, no worries - that is what you are supposed to do! Let me tell you as well that you all are some crazy dancing fools! I thought I was the only one that likes to dance for hours! You showed me! We also appreciate your generosity as well. That is an informal thank you, but THANK YOU. Our photographer, Wendy, was wonderful! She never seemed to put down her camera even though she was a guest as well! Thank you Wendy! I can't wait to see the pictures! And no worries... I will be sharing!

I've only gotten a few photos from my friend Tori, so if you have some send them my way!

Tori & I

This weekend I am heading home for the FAIR! Can't miss that! I know I could be at home learning how to sew and bake... but come on - it's ME! Hopefully, I'll see some of you there!I'm sure I'll have some more photos to post on Monday, but until then - CHEERS!
