The Wedding is still on!

Well this morning we met with the Limerick registrar, Louie, and he actually said we were "fit" to be married! So, it's still on! We had to recruit our new friends Aofie (pronounced Ava) and Marie to be our witnesses next Tuesday, but it all worked out. We were a tad nervous for a few minutes. Louie is a grand man, but as Bryon mentioned the only word he could understand was hello! Luckily, I caught more words than that and it is all set to go. We will return to Limerick on Monday evening and return to the Marriott there. We had an absolutely lovely night in the brand new hotel (one of our most reasonable thanks to Lane!) The hotel was gorgeous, the shower unbelievable and the staff... wow they were something! The poor bellman, Christie, when we realized that Bryon left my wedding dress in the car unlocked in front of the hotel...luckily everything was all good. Phew... I think I'll keep track of it now.

After our morning meeting we headed up to Bunratty to the castle and the folk park. The Castle was built in 1425 and its posession highly sought after by both the O'Briens and the MacNamaras. The attached folk park was really interesting. The park consists of rural farmhouses, and village shops and streets all recreated to be just as they were over a century ago. The park was absolutely beautiful, unfortunately, it was raining the entire time we were there. We had lunch at Mac's Pub on the village streets and were able to get out of the rain for a bit.

After visiting Bunratty, we headed down towards Cork. We arrived just in time for rush hour. It is so frustrating for us, being great with directions, that most city streets have NO street signs!! What the>?! How are people supposed to find their way? It was a little bit of a stressful drive through the city, but we arrived safely at our B&B -- the Garnish House which we will call home for the next couple of days. We took a rest and then walked all over Cork City. We were lucky that it actually stopped raining and the sun was shining for some time.
It is so strange here that even walking back to our B&B at 1030 PM, it is still light out! We walked around, did a little window shopping, found a couple of "Crowley" storefronts and had some dinner. Now, we are ready for bed and looking forward to another B&B breakfast in the morning! Tomorrow we are planning to head up to Blarney and then down to Cobh.

Until then...
XOXOXO
B&T
